We HEPA vacuumed and used an abrasive method to remove the hyphae. We then disinfected the affected area to ensure that the growth is remediated. We then used a stain remover and HEPA vacuumed once again before completing the job.

We set up containment to reduce cross-contamination and ran an air scrubber with HEPA filtration. This created a negative air chamber, which trapped all dust and debris, as well as mold spores. During our demolition we removed the drywall and affected insulation. We exposed the wood framing for drying and placed the drying equipment to dry the wood framing and prevent rot & secondary damage, such as microbial growth. Once the wood was dry, we were able to HEPA vacuum the microbial growth and remove the spores. We were then able to sand the wood to expose the hyphe (mold roots). Once the hyphe was exposed, we were able to kill them with an antimicrobial disinfectant (derived from thyme oil and is a green product). Once the disinfectant was applied, and all microbial growth was confirmed as remediated, we HEPA vacuumed all surfaces within the containment to remove all settled spore, dust & debris, per the IICRC S520 OSHA approved standard for microbial growth remediation. The job was then completed, and the equipment was removed & taken down.

HEPA vacuumed the entire space, fogged with sanitizer and sealed the holes in walls with wire mesh that allowed rodents and birds into attic, then closed off attic.
